Scientific Games Appoints James D. Schultz as EVP of Global Policy and Government Affairs
Scientific Games has named James D. Schultz as its new Executive Vice President of Global Policy and Government Affairs, entrusting him with leading the company’s public policy, government relations, and advocacy efforts worldwide. Schultz brings over two decades of experience as a policy advisor and attorney, and his expertise is expected to bolster Scientific Games’ mission to expand its lottery product reach and maximize proceeds for lottery beneficiary funding.
Commenting on the appointment, CEO Pat McHugh praised Schultz as an industry veteran capable of advancing Scientific Games’ goals:
Schultz’s extensive background includes legislative initiatives, government contracting, and advisory roles for senior government officials. Prior to joining Scientific Games, he worked at the law firm Holland & Knight and contributed to the transition team for Pennsylvania Governor-elect Josh Shapiro.
With Scientific Games serving 130 lotteries in 50 countries, Schultz’s role will focus on strengthening government relations, especially in North America, and ensuring the company’s partnerships continue to generate positive impacts for lottery beneficiaries.
Recent months have seen Scientific Games deepen its global presence with key partnerships, including deals with the Idaho Lottery, Groupe FDJ, and collaborations in retail technology such as with WAVE.
